The Chief Executive of Lockheed Martin Australia, Raydon Gates, signed on behalf of Lockheed Martin Corporation during Pacific 2012, a Corporate Annex to its January 2011 Global Supply Chain (GSC) Deed with the Australian Government. The Corporate Annex provides a pathway to the creation of a new cooperative business development environment for Australian-based suppliers to gain access to the Corporation’s global supply chain.
The GSC Deed Corporate Annex signing was witnessed by Senator the Hon. Kim Carr, Australian Minister for Defence Materiel, and Dale Bennett, president of Lockheed Martin’s Mission Systems & Sensors business.
The Corporate Annex funds for three years the establishment of dedicated teams in Australia and the United States to research Australian industry capabilities, and match these with identified business opportunities for Australian companies, especially small to medium-sized enterprises, into Lockheed Martin global supply chains, including those of its principal partners.
Identified business opportunities will be evaluated according to best value benchmarks set against other globally competitive options. According to Raydon Gates, signing of the GSC Deed Corporate Annex “provides an important next step in the continuing task of building Lockheed Martin’s business presence in Australia, and further broadening our role in supporting the Australian Defence Force and community.”
